Erica Wheadon (M.A. (WritLit), Grad.Dip.Ed. (Media), B.Media (Screen)) is an Australian writer and photographer drawn to the poetics of light, shadow, and impermanence. Her work moves between lyric prose, poetry, and moody, cinematic imagery—part observation, part excavation of the human condition. Whether photographing the natural world or moments of human connection, she’s interested in the spaces between abstraction and truth, solitude and intimacy.
Her words have appeared in Island and Stylus Lit, and her multimedia work has screened internationally. In 2023 she was a semi-finalist in the Australian Photography Awards (Experimental). She publishes A Certain Slant, a journal of reflections, meditations, and the everyday sublime.
She lives and creates on Gubbi Gubbi land (Sunshine Coast Hinterland), with her husband, dog and about 300 different rainforest birds.
